Derek Chisora vs Otto Wallin Betting Tips

Derek Chisora fights in the UK for the last time on Saturday night with a tough match-up against Sweden’s Otto Wallin.

It will be the 49th bout of a storied career for Chisora and he is planning to reach 50, but his swansong will be outside of the UK.

Chisora has a deceptive 35-13 record, as nine of his losses have come against fighters who were either current, former or future world champions, while Wallin is 27-2 and 15 of his wins have come inside the distance.

Tip 1 – Derek Chisora to win at 9/5

Chisora comes into this fight as the underdog, but you can guarantee he will put everything he has into this contest and he can claim one last win on UK soil before he hangs up his gloves for good.

No fighter has ever had an easy night against Chisora, with the possible exception of Tyson Fury in the third fight of their trilogy, and he has the power and style to make this difficult for the more measured Wallin, even if he isn’t quite the wrecking ball he once was.

Chisora upset the odds in a domestic dust-up with Joe Joyce in his last bout as he survived some intense punishment to win on the scorecards after 10 rounds. Wallin doesn’t carry the same kind of power as Joyce and will find it hard to control the distance against an explosive opponent.

The Swede has an impressive 27-2 record, but doesn’t have the same calibre of fighters on his CV as Chisora does.

Wallin has fallen short in his biggest tests, losing on points against Fury - albeit in a contest where the Gypsy King was given an examination - and suffering a fifth-round stoppage at the hands of Anthony Joshua in December 2023.

The biggest names on Wallin’s resume are probably former world title challenger Dominic Breazeale and former cruiserweight world champion Murat Gassiev, so a win over Chisora would arguably rank as his best-ever victory.

For a long time Chisora was a bit of a gatekeeper in the heavyweight division and a win over the former ‘Del Boy’ would set fighters up for a world title shot.

That isn’t the case anymore, but it shows the levels he was at and he managed to roll back the clock in his thrilling win over Joyce last time out in his last hometown fight.

We should probably expect an equally tenacious showing from the Londoner in his penultimate outing this weekend, and Chisora could be a bit too much for Wallin to cope with.

Tip 2 - Derek Chisora to win by decision at 7/2

A straightforward Chisora win offers good value, but if you are tempted to push this one a little further, backing the 41-year-old to win on points could be the way to go.

‘War’ will be the more aggressive fighter and will be the man pushing forward and trying to engage, and that kind of tactic should work in his favour when it comes to the judges’ decisions.

Wallin’s only stoppage defeat came against Joshua and he himself may have fought on but the decision was taken out of his hands by his corner after the fifth round.

Chisora doesn’t have the same level of power as AJ, so Wallin should be able to reach the final bell, but the Briton can outwork the younger fighter and connect with the more eye-catching shots to get the decision in front of a crowd that will be fully behind him.
