Chris Eubank Jr vs Kamil Szeremeta: Insight, Prediction and Tips

Chris Eubank Jr is aiming to put himself back in the frame for a world title shot in 2025 when he faces Kamil Szeremeta at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh this weekend.

The Briton has the stage he craves on the undercard of Dmitry Bivol's undisputed light-heavyweight showdown against Artur Beterbiev.

Eubank (33-3, 24 KOs) will return to the ring for the first time since he stopped Liam Smith in a sublime display in September 2023, eight months after he lost to the Liverpudlian.

His opponent Szeremeta (25-2, 8 KOs) was last in action in February when he was held to a split-decision draw against Abel Mina in Poland.

The Pole has shared the ring with some of boxing's biggest names in the past but this is another occasion when he could be found wanting against a genuine top-class fighter.

Over 8.5 rounds @ 4/5

Eubank Jr will be stepping into the ring for the first time in 13 months against Szeremeta.

Periods of inactivity are not usual for the 35-year-old, who is always in tremendous shape and lives the life of a superstar boxer, but his long gaps between bouts can hold him back.

His decision to sign with Boxxer suggests he still believes he can compete at the top of the sport for the next few years – but he must win in style if he is to earn a legitimate world title shot next year.

Eubank has often claimed he could share a ring with big names such as Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez or Conor Benn in 2025, but he first has to focus on what is in front of him in Saudi Arabia.

Szeremeta is relatively unknown and has lost the two biggest fights of his career to date.

The Pole challenged Gennady Golovkin for his world titles in 2020 but had to retire after hitting the canvas on four occasions. He then attempted to bounce back against Jaime Munguia but was stopped once again.

Szeremeta is unbeaten since his defeat to Munguia in 2021 but, crucially, none of those fights have come against anyone of note.

Szeremeta has won 25 of his 29 fights to date but only eight have come via a stoppage, so he will likely have to hope he can stay in the fight as long as possible and bank on Eubank tiring.

Boxers can often struggle with their timing after such a long absence from the ring which increases the chance of a drawn-out affair on Saturday and, ultimately, Eubank will want to get some rounds in ahead of a big 2025.

Chris Eubank Jr to win in rounds 9-10 @ 5/1

At 35, Eubank needs to prove he still has something left in the tank and a highlight-reel knockout may get the attention of promoters.

The Brighton fighter is running out of time to prove he can be a world champion but he should have no issues recording a comfortable win against Szeremeta.

Eubank may use the early part of the fight to try and work on some new things and shake off the rust – but he should step on the accelerator in the latter rounds.
