Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen Betting Tips

Unbeaten heavyweight Johnny Fisher faces the first real test of his career when he meets Dave Allen in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.

The bout, which is part of the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury II undercard, promises to be an entertaining contest and we have a value selection for the Kingdom Arena clash.

Tip 1: Under 4.5 rounds @ 22/25

A peak Allen (23-6-2, 18 KOs) would pose a major threat to Fisher’s unbeaten record (12-0, 11 KOs) but it seems highly unlikely that ‘the White Rhino’ will arrive in Saudi Arabia at his top level.

The Doncaster pugilist has mixed it with David Price, Tony Yoka, Luis Ortiz and Dillian Whyte in a 31-fight career and there are excellent victories over Nick Webb and Lucas Browne on the 32-year-old’s card.

However Allen retired from the sport in 2020 and, while he has returned and won five of his six bouts, the victories have come against extremely limited opposition.

The White Rhino was retired when suffering a perforated eardrum against Frazer Clarke last year and it’s fair to think that Fisher has the potential to be a far better fighter than Big Fraze.

Allen should have more to give at the age of 32 but there have been a series of gruelling bouts, and heavy defeats throughout his career and you have to wonder if he would have even returned to the sport had it not been for the Saudi Arabia riches.

Fisher has impressed in the early stages of his career and has stopped 11 of his 12 previous opponents, winning all of those bouts.

Clearly they have been low-level contests but, for all that Allen is a bigger name than anyone the 25-year-old has faced so far, the White Rhino may struggle to outperform any of Fisher’s opponents who have hit the canvas.

Alen Babic was stopped in a round by the Romford fighter in July, Dmytro Bezus failed to get past the opening three minutes prior to that and it’s clear that Fisher is a big-hitter.

It’s possible that the 25-year-old may be considerably better than what we have seen so far and the young heavyweight has plenty of scope for improvement.

It’s also fairly likely that it could be one of the worst versions of Allen in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night and there are a whole host of reasons to think the Kingdom Arena contest will end early.

The total rounds has been set at 4.5 and going under that mark looks a bet.

Tip 2: Johnny Fisher to win in round two @ 6/1

Fisher has a perfect 12 victories from 12 fights and the big-hitting heavyweight has recorded 11 stoppage wins on that impressive run.

The Romford Bull has seen eight of his 12 successes come in rounds one or two and a small play on the 25-year-old to end Allen's challenge in the second three-minute period is worth a punt.

Fisher has a series of hurdles to overcome in Saudi Arabia, and while the White Rhino has proved a game and durable boxer at his peak, Allen's heyday has passed.

That said, the 32-year-old has enough experience and ring craft to spoil and keep Fisher at bay in the first round, before the Romford Bull's power can take over.

A little good fortune is needed when round betting, but there is enough in offers of 6/1 to chance Fisher making a decisive breakthrough in round two.
