Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano Betting Tips
The Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano rematch is on the same card as the clash between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul — and the bout for the women’s undisputed world super-lightweight title is likely to be the pick of Saturday morning’s action.
Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) and Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) duked it out in a closely-fought battle in 2022 and two of women’s boxing’s leading lights will clash for the second time in Texas in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Tip 1: Amanda Serrano to beat Katie Taylor @ 4/6
Taylor was awarded the verdict in her first bout with Serrano, but that was a closely-fought fight, and it wouldn’t have been a shock or a surprise if the Puerto Rican was handed the verdict over KT.
In fact, ‘the Real Deal’ appeared to have outpointed Taylor at Madison Square Garden and Serrano was pretty unfortunate not to be handed the verdict.
Taylor has been a brilliant fighter and the Irishwoman is an undisputed and lineal world lightweight champion as well as a four-belt super-lightweight queen.
It’s impossible to dismiss the achievements of the brilliant ‘Bray Bomber’, but all good things come to an end, and there have been signs that time is closing in on the 38-year-old.
Taylor was somewhat fortunate to be awarded the victory over Serrano, and since then, KT has also been beaten by Chantelle Cameron.
Of course, she avenged that defeat last year but those were a pair of tough bouts and it’s more miles on an already full clock.
The 38-year-old has contested 24 pro fights, and all but six of those have gone the distance. Taylor is also a veteran of 189 amateur bouts, and the sheer volume of fights must have left some sort of mark on her — if not physically then mentally.
The Bray fighter will have to go to the well one more time in Texas and it may just run dry.
Serrano has recorded five straight successes since losing to Taylor, which include good wins over Sarah Mahfoud and Erika Hernandez, and there is enough in the price to back the Puerto Rican to come out on top at the AT&T Stadium.
Tip 2: Amanda Serrano by stoppage @ 23/4
If Taylor is past her best and feeling the effects of a long career, then it doesn’t seem like a 23/4 shot that Serrano is able to stop the Bray boxer.
The Real Deal has seen 31 of her 47 victories come by stoppage and, while the bulk of those have come against opponents way below that of the level of Taylor, the 36-year-old could dominate the Texas tussle.
Taylor, six stoppages from 23 wins, certainly doesn’t have the power to keep the Puerto Rican at bay so if this does develop into a one-sided contest it would be no surprise to see Serrano end KT before the final bell.
