BACK IN-FORM BUNTING IN 21/2 BETMGM PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS NIGHT 10 ACCA

Stephen Bunting has finally arrived in the BetMGM Premier League.

Having not won a single game prior to Night 9 in Berlin, the Bullet won the whole night in the German capital – beating world number one Luke Humphries in the process.

The two meet once more in the last quarter-final tie of Night 10. Can Bunting do it again in Manchester?

Beforehand, Chris Dobey looks to follow up his shock win over Luke Littler last week as he gets the action at the AO Arena underway against Michael van Gerwen.

Elsewhere Stockport thrower Nathan Aspinall takes on Rob Cross in a battle of two players in need of points to keep touch with the top four and first faces third as Littler goes head to head with Gerwyn Price.

It promises to be a spectacular battle in the North West. Here is the full quarter-final running order for Night 10:

BetMGM Premier League Darts Tips: 21/2 Night 10 Acca

  • Van Gerwen to beat Dobey
  • Over 8.5 legs in Aspinall vs Cross
  • Price to beat Littler +1.5 legs
  • Bunting most 180s vs Humphries

Leg 1 – Michael van Gerwen to beat Chris Dobey @ 4/5

Van Gerwen returns to the BetMGM Premier League having missed Night 9 through injury – and he will want to return strongly.

The Dutchman faces Dobey here, who had a mixed night at the Uber Arena last week with a fantastic 6-2 quarter-final win over Littler followed by a lacklustre loss in the semis to Price.

He sits sevent and, after Bunting’s first nightly win, will be looking over his shoulder to avoid slipping to the foot of the table.

These two have met seven times in the Premier League with MVG winning four of them – we fancy him to add a fifth here.

Van Gerwen was showing improvement in the tournament before his withdrawal last week, making the final in Cardiff before narrowly losing to Aspinall in Newcastle.

Indeed, the Dutchman has lost just twice in the quarter-final matches he has contested, the fewest of all eight players.

Dobey, meanwhile, has passed the last-eight stage just three times – his six quarter-final defeats ranking as the most aside from bottom-placed Bunting.

Hollywood last beat Van Gerwen in the Players Championship 4 in February last year and has lost five of the last six meetings overall, including a 6-1 thrashing in the semis of the World Championship as well as 6-4 and 6-1 defeats in the BetMGM Premier League already.

He’ll be looking to attack MVG after his two-week break – but the Dutchman will have too much and 4/5 for Van Gerwen to win the match seems a likely outcome.

And remember: BetMGM is paying out early when your player takes a three-leg lead, regardless of the final result. More information can be found here.

Leg 2 – Over 8.5 legs in Nathan Aspinall vs Rob Cross @ 7/25

Without a nightly win between them, Aspinall and Cross occupy the fifth and sixth spots respectively and meet for the third time in the BetMGM Premier League this year.

The Asp has the home crowd on his side though, against this opponent, he may not need them. He's won the last seven Premier League meetings and hasn’t lost to Voltage since the 2023 Grand Slam.

Cross has played some formidable darts this year but it hasn’t been backed up with BetMGM Premier League success.

He has a strong average (98.77), and has hit a spectacular nine-darter, but has not yet made it past the semi-finals.

All but one of Aspinall’s seven wins in a row over Cross have featured over 8.5 legs, while he (79%) and Cross (80%) are also in the top three for matches with over 8.5 legs so far in the Premier League.

We’re backing this to continue at 7/25.

Leg 3 – Gerwyn Price to beat Luke Littler +1.5 legs @ 11/8

We’ve been waiting for this one.

Price is the one player who seems to have the world champion’s number consistently and they meet for the third time in this season’s BetMGM Premier League in Manchester.

Their previous two clashes have gone the way of the Iceman and he has gone on to win both of those nights overall, in Dublin and Nottingham respectively.

Littler has been scintillating so far in the BetMGM Premier League but did suffer a blip in Berlin against Dobey and Price is not the opponent he would want to meet when looking to get back on track.

The defending champion has lost his last six matches against Price and has won just four of their 11 meetings overall – with two of those wins coming in their first-ever pair of matches in World Series events back in early January 2024.

Littler doesn’t seem to be able to assert the kind of dominance over the Welshman that he does over other players on the tour. His double hitting seems to evade him – he hit just three of 13 (23.08%) in their last meeting – and he will want to reverse perceptions in Manchester.

This one could be close. So close, in fact, that we’re looking to the handicap betting for the acca selection.

Price does seem to have something of a hold over Littler and has won two nights plus been runner-up in one. He did, though, receive a bye last week in the last eight and has suffered five quarter-final defeats too.

The Nuke won’t want to lose to him again – and he may well not but, such is the recent history between the pair, Price to win the match with a +1.5-leg handicap at 11/8 looks good value at the same venue he hit a sensational nine-darter last year.

Leg 4 – Stephen Bunting most 180s vs Luke Humphries @ 11/10

What a week Bunting has had.

Seven days ago he was without a single point in the Premier League. In the space of a few days he has won a night and picked up his first European Tour title.

In Humphries, he now faces a man he beat to achieve both feats.

Bunting’s 6-2 win over Cool Hand in last week’s semi-final set him on the way to Night 9 victory while his 7-6 triumph at the same stage in the International Darts Open in Germany set up a final against BetMGM Premier League rival Aspinall, which he also duly won.

Humphries failed to take advantage of Littler’s early exit in Berlin on Night 9, only narrowing the gap at the top by two points thanks to the defeat against Bunting. He will want to execute revenge here.

For all Bunting had not picked up results prior to last week, he had not played badly.

His 180 hitting has been solid throughout – his average of 3.27 per match is now second-best overall behind Littler – while he led all players on Night 9 12 maximums. The Bullet seems to have found his rhythm.

These two have met twice in the BetMGM Premier League so far, with Bunting yet to be outscored on maximums in either match.

Momentum is on the side of the Liverpudlian, so 11/10 for Bunting to hit the most 180s in the match completes the Night 10 acca.
