BetMGM Premier League Darts Tips: 17/2 Night 2 Acca
It’s Glasgow’s turn to host as the 2025 BetMGM Premier League Darts season heads north of the border for the first of two visits.
The opening night in Belfast saw Luke Humphries put down a marker by beating Chris Dobey 6-1 in the final and the world number one will be full of confidence heading into this one.
Let’s take a run-through of the night’s fixtures and, as ever, put together an accumulator for the quarter-finals as the 2025 BetMGM Premier League gets ready for Night 2.
BetMGM Premier League Darts Night 2 Fixtures
Having lost at the first hurdle in a pulsating clash with Michael van Gerwen last week, Luke Littler takes on Rob Cross in the evening’s first quarter-final. Cross made the semis in Belfast but has beaten Littler just once in the Premier League.
In the second quarter-final, Van Gerwen faces Stephen Bunting in a repeat of the 2024 Masters final. Bunting won that 11-7 to claim his first PDC major title – the two haven’t met since that match in Milton Keynes and the Bullet will be looking for a repeat performance here.
Neither Nathan Aspinall nor Gerwyn Price got off the mark in Belfast but one of them will here as they battle it out in quarter-final number three. The Asp was well beaten on Night 1 by eventual winner Humphries while Price lost to runner-up Chris Dobey.
Finally, the Night 1 final becomes a quarter-final on Night 2 as Humphries meets Dobey.
Humphries dismantled Hollywood 6-1 in Belfast as he made an early leap to the top of the BetMGM Premier League Darts table – can the Newcastle thrower get revenge in Scotland?
17/2 BetMGM Premier League Darts Night 2 Acca
- 2 or more 100+ checkouts in Rob Cross vs Luke Littler
- Michael van Gerwen to beat Stephen Bunting
- Gerwyn Price to hit over 2.5 180s vs Nathan Aspinall
- Luke Humphries to beat Chris Dobey with -1.5 legs handicap
Leg 1 – 2 or more 100+ checkouts in Rob Cross vs Luke Littler @ 11/8
Fresh from winning the first Players Championship event of the year – and his second PDC title already in 2025 – Cross faces defending BetMGM Premier League champion Littler to kick things off in Glasgow.
Voltage made the semi-final last week, dispatching Bunting before losing out to Dobey, while Littler failed to pick up any points in Belfast after losing in the quarters to Van Gerwen.
It’s been a tricky start to 2025 for Littler: he lost in the last 32 of Players Championship 1 while averaging just 88.9 across his three matches, though he did go on to make the Players Championship 2 quarter-finals midweek.
The Nuke also checked out 161 in defeat last week and it should be remembered the loss to MVG was a close affair. Cross, meanwhile, hit 136 in his loss to Dobey and has checked out over 100 in all of his previous Premier League visits to Glasgow.
Voltage had the highest checkout in this venue last year with a 144 and we like the look of the 11/8 for two or more 100+ checkouts in the opening quarter-final tie to kick-start our acca.
Leg 2 – Michael van Gerwen to beat Stephen Bunting @ 8/11
Prior to his Belfast defeat, Bunting had enjoyed a fine 2024 and a strong start to 2025.
Entering the fray having made the final of both World Series events, winning in Bahrain, made last week’s loss to Cross a disappointment. The Bullet has since failed to make it past the last 32 of Players Championship 1 and the last 16 at Players Championship 2.
Van Gerwen, meanwhile, beat Littler in a breathless match on Night 1 before being edged out 6-5 by Humphries in the semis amid some inconsistent doubling. Indeed, since losing to Littler in the World Championship final, Mighty Mike has won three and lost three of his six matches.
Yet there are signs the old MVG may be returning. He hit six 180s and averaged over 105 in the win over Littler and topped a 101 average against Humphries despite his double woes.
The Dutchman goes into Night 2 against Bunting having won eight of the last 10 meetings against the Bullet, though Bunting won the last one 11-7 in the 2024 Masters final.
Despite that, we’re edging towards the Dutchman here. His performance against Littler in Belfast was impressive enough, his head-to-head dominance against Bunting cannot be discounted and his Glasgow Premier League record is formidable, having won the night last season and made the final in two of three appearances in the new format.
Van Gerwen to beat Bunting at 8/11 therefore makes its way on to our acca as a result – and remember, with our 3Up promotion, if MVG goes three legs up at any point in the match this selection is a winner.
Leg 3 – Gerwyn Price to hit over 2.5 180s vs Nathan Aspinall @ 4/7
Both players will see this as an opportunity to get off the mark.
Price has shown recent glimpses of what he can do – including winning Players Championship 2 in midweek while beating Littler and Dobey en route to the title. Aspinall lost in the last 32 of that tournament after a first-round Players Championship 1 exit against Keane Barry.
We’re heading to the 180s market for our acca selection in this one. Price hit 403 maximums in 2024, hit three in defeat last week and has managed three or more 180s in three of his last four Premier League meetings with Aspinall into the bargain.
Price to hit over 2.5 maximums against Aspinall at 4/7 is appealing in a match-up that he has won seven of the last 10 times.
Leg 4 – Luke Humphries to beat Chris Dobey with -1.5 legs handicap @ 12/25
Humphries is going to take some stopping on his current form.
He’s already won one major this year in the World Masters and made the semi-finals of Players Championship 1 in Wigan before bowing out to Joe Cullen – the sole defeat in his last 14 matches.
His opponent in Glasgow is the man he faced in the final on Night 1: Chris Dobey. Hollywood was something of the surprise package in Belfast, seeing off both Price and Cross in successive matches.
A 6-1 final defeat to Humphries meant he did not replicate his Belfast win of 2023 and attention for the Newcastle thrower must now turn to ensuring he avoids the slide down the BetMGM Premier League table he suffered in his last appearance in the competition; after winning Night 1 in 2023 he lost the next five quarter-finals and ultimately finished seventh in the table.
Anything other than another win for Cool Hand here would be a surprise and, as such, the final leg of our acca is the 12/25 for Humphries to win this one with -1.5-leg handicap.
Night 2 Odds & BetMGM Specials
Last week’s winner Humphries heads to Glasgow as 2/1 joint-favourite for the night with Littler. Van Gerwen, winner in Glasgow last season, is available at 13/2 and a full list of odds for the outright Night 2 winner is below:
The BetMGM Premier League has been the home of the nine-darter, with no competition having featured more perfect legs than this one. It’s 7/1 for a nine-darter to be hit at any point across the evening in Glasgow – can Price hit the first of the year, just as he did in 2024?
Markets such as total evening 180s, over/under legs, King of the Oche and specific doubles to be hit are all available throughout this year’s BetMGM Premier League, with a whole host of markets on offer in-play.
Be sure to keep an eye on the BetMGM Premier League Darts Hub as well as our social media channels throughout Night 2.
Darting Deja Vu
Van Gerwen will be hoping for a repeat of last year’s visit to Glasgow, when he was crowned nightly champion having beaten Humphries in the final. The Dutchman is 13/2 to win here two years in a row.
Cross, meanwhile, had the highest finish in Glasgow last time around with a 144 out. Voltage is 7/1 to nail the highest checkout once more.
