HUMPHRIES THE KEY TO 11/1 BETMGM PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS NIGHT 5 ACCA
The 2025 BetMGM Premier League Darts season heads to Brighton for Night 5 as the competition takes a second trip to the south coast in as many weeks.
Luke Humphries claimed his second nightly win in Exeter to extend his lead at the top of the table to seven points, beating Luke Littler in the final in what was his first-ever Premier League win over the Nuke.
BetMGM Premier League Darts Night 5 Fixtures
Michael van Gerwen opens proceedings against Night 3 winner Gerwyn Price, the first time the two have met this season.
Newly-crowned UK Open champion Luke Littler is next up, facing Chris Dobey, before Luke Humphries takes on Rob Cross and the winless Stephen Bunting comes up against Nathan Aspinall.
Here is the full quarter-finals running order for Night 5:
BetMGM Premier League Darts Tips: 11/1 Night 5 Acca
- Over 8.5 legs in Price vs Van Gerwen
- Dobey to hit over 3.5 180s vs Littler
- Humphries to average over 100.5 vs Cross
- Aspinall to beat Bunting
Leg 1 – Over 8.5 legs in Gerwyn Price vs Michael van Gerwen @ 2/7
Mighty Mike had won all three of his quarter-finals prior to Night 4 but his defeat to Cross leaves him fourth in the table on six points.
MVG beat Littler on Night 1 but has yet to progress past the semi-final and a fifth-round defeat to Robert Owen in the UK Open last week isn’t the ideal preparation for this one.
Price had a similarly disappointing performance in the UK Open – losing in the fourth round to world number 59 Connor Scutt – but has performed well so far in the Premier League and sits one point ahead of Van Gerwen in third.
The pair met three times in last year’s competition with the Dutchman winning two. He also won their last meeting at Players Championship 27 in the latter part of 2024.
It is bound to be a close one, this. Indeed, of the eight quarter-finals they have played between them so far, seven have contained over nine legs or more.
The scoreline that proved the exception – Van Gerwen’s 6-1 thumping of Stephen Bunting – is unlikely to come to pass in Brighton regardless of winner.
Though a short price, 2/7 for over 8.5 legs in the match kicks off the acca with a suitably sensible shout.

Leg 2 – Chris Dobey to hit over 3.5 180s vs Luke Littler @ 11/8
After a good start, Dobey’s 2025 BetMGM Premier League has so far headed the same way as his 2023 campaign with an impressive Night 1 in Belfast followed by a string of consecutive defeats.
The Newcastle thrower needs to halt his poor run of form, though a Brighton quarter-final against newly-minted UK Open champion Littler probably wasn’t high on his wishlist as he attempts to do so.
Dobey did beat fellow BetMGM Premier League player Bunting in the competition but could not navigate a way past an off-form Dimitri van den Bergh, who subsequently averaged a horrendous 70.09 in his very next match.
Some hope for Hollywood comes with his victory over Littler in their last meeting at Players Championship 25 back in October. He had, admittedly, lost his only other two matches against the Nuke before that though.
Struggling for results he may be, but Dobey isn’t struggling for maximums. He has yet to be beaten on the 180 counts in any of his BetMGM Premier League matches so far – and has hit at least five in his last three matches.
Littler hit a whopping 20 180s of his own last week in Exeter but it is in Dobey’s consistency of throw, rather than the world champion’s, that value can be found.
Taking him to outscore the Nuke on maximums may be slightly too tall an order but Dobey to hit over 3.5 180s in the match at 11/8 has every chance of landing regardless of how many the world champion hits himself.
Leg 3 – Luke Humphries to average over 100.5 vs Rob Cross @ 5/6
Humphries is the man to beat at the moment.
Already seven points clear at the top of the table, Cool Hand won last week in Exeter to make it two wins from four nights and only once has he failed to make the final.
Cross is his opponent here. When the pair met on Night 4, Voltage was throwing for the match at 5-5 before losing his throw and therefore the game.
Humphries is a player always capable of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat but it’s his consistency that really does for opponents. On top form his 140, 180 and combination finishing are relentless and so difficult to stop.
The world number one has averaged over 100 in more than half of his BetMGM Premier League games so far, including a whopping 106.07 against Dobey on Night 4.
At the UK Open he averaged over 100 in all four of his games, including his 10-0 annihilation of Ryan Searle and his surprise elimination at the hands of James Wade.
Odds of 5/6 for Humphries to average over 100.5 against Cross is too good to pass up.
Leg 4 – Nathan Aspinall to beat Stephen Bunting @ 6/5
Bunting props up the BetMGM Premier League table on precisely zero points – but he has not been playing badly.
That was never more evident than in last week’s defeat to Littler in Exeter: the Bullet averaged over 104, hit six 180s and was 60% on his doubles. It just so happened the world champion was feeling it, averaging 112, hammering in 10 maximums and having 66% checkout success to win 6-3.
Bunting’s latest attempt to get off the mark comes against Aspinall which, a couple of weeks ago, he probably would have viewed as the ideal opportunity.
But the Asp seems to be rediscovering form of late. A quarter-final appearance at the UK Open followed a semi-final and final appearance in the preceding two BetMGM Premier League nights and he will be eyeing up further progress here.
These two haven’t met competitively for over a year, with Bunting a resounding 11-1 victor in the 2024 Masters on his way to becoming a PDC major champion.
It’s true they had contrasting 2024s, with Bunting enjoying success multiple times over in floor events while Aspinall struggled with both injuries and form.
Yet, since beating Littler to make the Dutch Darts Masters final, Bunting has only beaten one player in the PDC top 15. The Asp, world number 11, will see the form tables as having well and truly turned and 6/5 for Aspinall to win is well worth running the anchor leg for us here on Night 5.
And remember: with BetMGM paying out early when your player takes a three-leg lead regardless of the final result, there is an added safeguard in backing the match-winner market. More information on that can be found here.
Night 5 Odds, Specials & darting Deja Vu
Littler (6/4) and Humphries (2/1) once again head up the betting for Night 5.
They have met twice already in finals this year and being in separate halves of the draw in Brighton means another showpiece meeting could be on the cards. Humphries won here last year and, with Littler bang in form too, it’s difficult to look away from a Luke hoisting the trophy aloft again this week.
Price is the only player not called Luke to win a night this year and he was victorious in Brighton in 2023. At 9/1 he perhaps provides the best alternative option to win the night.
Meanwhile, it’s 7/1 for the first nine-darter of the campaign to be hit at any point across the evening in Brighton. There’s the added incentive for perfection this year – BetMGM will present a custom-made set of 18ct solid gold darts worth £30,000 to any player who hits a nine-darter during the competition.
Humphries dropped only seven legs on his way to victory at the Brighton Centre last year, which was his maiden triumph in the BetMGM Premier League. His checkout of 143 was the highest of the night and he is 9/2 to have the biggest finish again this year.
There were a staggering 57 maximums on Night 4 in Exeter, which was the most of any night since the change in Premier League format in 2022. Of those 57 Littler hit 20 and is 11/10 favourite to hit the most in Brighton. Again value could come in the form of Price, who topped the maximum charts in 2023 and sits at an intriguing 8/1 to repeat that feat this season.
Markets such as total evening 180s, over/under legs, King of the Oche and specific doubles to be hit are all available throughout this year’s BetMGM Premier League, with a whole host of markets on offer in-play.
