PRICE IS RIGHT FOR 11/1 BETMGM PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS NIGHT 7 ACCA

The first six weeks of the BetMGM Premier League Darts have gone by in the blink of an eye and the competition heads to Cardiff this week – the home night for last week’s champion Gerwyn Price.

First up at the Utilita Arena it’s a battle of the basement boys as Chris Dobey, without a victory since his runner-up finish on Night 1, takes on the winless Stephen Bunting.

Elsewhere, world number one Luke Humphries looks to get back on the horse after two quarter-final losses in a row cost him the league’s top spot in the process.

Seven-time BetMGM Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen awaits Cool Hand in Wales while new league leader Luke Littler goes head to head with Nathan Aspinall before the Cardiff crowd gets the chance to roar on home hero Price.

The Iceman has started the campaign in strong form, sharing the six nightly wins equally with Littler and Humphries, and takes on Rob Cross with genuine hopes of topping the table come the night’s end.

Here is the full quarter-finals running order for Night 7:

BetMGM Premier League Darts Tips: 11/1 Night 7 Acca

  • Dobey to hit most 180s vs Bunting
  • Humphries to have most 100+ checkouts vs Van Gerwen
  • Under 9.5 legs in Littler vs Aspinall
  • Price to beat Cross

Leg 1 – Chris Dobey to hit the most 180s vs Stephen Bunting @ 23/25

Dobey and Bunting prop up the table after six weeks meaning both desperately need a win here.

Geordie arrowsmith Dobey started the competition well enough by making the final on Night 1 but results since then have been dismal with five quarter-final defeats in a row.

Things have been even worse for Bunting. He has lost all six of his BetMGM Premier League matches so far, despite averaging over 100 on three of the last four nights, and must be wondering what he has to do to pick up a point.

In truth, neither can afford to lose this one and we’re avoiding the match winner market in what should prove to be an exceptionally tight affair to kick off the night.

Dobey, while he has struggled with results, has been prolific with 180s and so it’s to that market we head for the acca.

The 34-year-old has hit the fifth-most maximums (30) despite playing the second-fewest games, has hit more 180s than his opponent in 63% of matches and only Littler averages more per game than his 3.75.

That’s why kicking off our Night 7 accumulator is Dobey to hit the most 180s in the match at 23/25.

Leg 2 – Luke Humphries to have more 100+ checkouts than Michael van Gerwen @ 6/4

Humphries led the way for all of the first five weeks – with wins in Belfast and Exeter – but the last two nights have shown that he is beatable.

Van Gerwen, though, has beaten the world number one just once in the Premier League. The Dutchman has been consistent in reaching the last four this season but his performances have been stuttering rather than fluid and, in truth, he has not yet looked close to winning a night.

Humphries likely wins this one – it’s borderline unfathomable that he’d exit at the first hurdle on three consecutive nights – but for acca leg number two we’re focusing on checkouts rather than the winner market.

MVG has struggled so far when it comes to finishing – but Humphries has excelled. Cool Hand has hit 15 100+ finishes in his 13 games, averaging a highest checkout of over 115.

Van Gerwen has only managed five in his 11 games and averages a highest checkout of just 77.64. Indeed, he’s only had a higher checkout than his opponent three times so far and he won’t here.

Humphries to hit the most 100+ checkouts in the match at 6/4 is well worth the backing.

Leg 3 – Under 9.5 legs in Luke Littler vs Nathan Aspinall @ 4/9

It’s been a strange tournament so far for Aspinall.

For all he has certainly shown a return to close to what he is capable of with two runner-up finishes, there have been some comprehensive defeats for the Asp along the way too.

He has the lowest average of all eight players, at 94.82, and it has dropped below 90 on a couple of occasions.

Aspinall faces Littler here who is, simply put, just not a man against whom you can afford to perform poorly.

Reigning BetMGM Premier League champion Littler sits comfortably at the other end of the average scale – a whopping 104.14 sees the Nuke the only player to average over 100 for the tournament to date.

Even in losing to Price in last week’s final, he was averaging north of 103 and we certainly don’t expect him to taste defeat in this one.

These two have met 11 times across all competitions and Aspinall has won just once. Twice this year already Littler has beaten the Asp in the BetMGM Premier League, winning 6-2 and 6-3 respectively.

Half of their BetMGM Premier League Darts meetings have contained under 9.5 legs while Aspinall has the fewest number of games – four of 11 – to surpass that mark this year.

This one won’t last too long either: under 9.5 legs looks a good choice for the acca at 4/9.

Leg 4 – Gerwyn Price to beat Rob Cross @ 8/11

Price has the added advantage of a home crowd in Cardiff as he searches for the points that will put him top of the table.

He faces Rob Cross here in the quarter-final who, sensational nine-darter in Brighton aside, hasn’t found his rhythm yet.

The two haven’t met in the BetMGM Premier League yet this year, though they did face off in the Dutch Darts Masters in January where Cross won en route to becoming champion.

It must be said, though, that Voltage won just one of their three Premier League meetings last year. And the Iceman has used home advantage here to benefit him in the past: he posted a runner-up finish last year and won the night in 2023.

Odds of 8/11 for Price to win in front of a raucous, partisan crowd feels like the right option for the anchor leg of our Night 7 acca as a result.

Don’t forget: with BetMGM paying out early when your player takes a three-leg lead regardless of the final result, there is an added safeguard in backing the match-winner market. More information can be found here.

Night 7 Odds, Specials & darting Deja Vu

Littler tops the table and the betting at 11/10, with Humphries (7/4) second favourite and home hope Price 13/2.

Nottingham could not follow Brighton in the nine-darter stakes last week but several nines were sighted in Players Championship events in midweek – it’s 6/1 for that trend to continue with a perfect leg to be hit at any point across the night in Cardiff.

Price couldn’t quite make it two nightly wins in a row in the Welsh capital last year but he did hit the night’s highest checkout with 124. He will thrive with the crowd on his side and is 5/1 to have the highest checkout again this time round.

The Iceman is also the form man at the moment and, with 32 maximums so far in the competition, a boosted 7/1 for Price to hit the most 180s on Night 7 could provide value. Can the Iceman make it a homecoming to remember?

Markets such as total evening 180s, over/under legs, King of the Oche and specific doubles to be hit are all available throughout this year’s BetMGM Premier League, with a whole host of markets on offer in-play.
