Champions League Last 16: First Leg Expert Betting Tips
The Champions League knockout phase continues this week with the second batch of four round of 16, first leg games taking place across Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday’s action features Inter’s clash at home to Atletico Madrid and PSV Eindhoven’s fixture against Borussia Dortmund.
Then on Wednesday in-form Arsenal will be gunning for a sixth successive win on their trip to Porto, while Barcelona’s quest for European glory continues with a tricky test against Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Tip 1 - Inter to draw against Atletico Madrid @ 13/5
Inter are dominating the Serie A title race but they were not entirely convincing in the Champions League group stage and could be held to a draw by Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their round of 16 tie.
There is a lack of quality in domestic opposition to Inter, who have established a nine-point lead in the Italian top flight.
But Simone Inzaghi’s side were less impressive in Champions League Group D and they finished second to Real Sociedad, who ended up with the same number of points (12) and a superior goal difference (plus five as opposed to plus three).
Sociedad achieved a 0-0 draw on their December visit to the San Siro and their accomplishment can be matched by Atleti, who are vastly experienced on the Champions League stage.
Atleti have been victorious in six of their last eight round of 16 ties and they can put themselves in a strong position by nullifying the Nerazzurri.
Tip 2 - Borussia Dortmund draw no bet against PSV Eindhoven @ 13/10
PSV Eindhoven are unbeaten in 17 home matches this season but their Philips Stadion fortress could be breached by Borussia Dortmund, who look the more probable winners of their first leg clash in the Netherlands.
There has been scant domestic opposition to PSV, who are ten points clear at the top of the Eredivisie with only 12 matches left to play.
But Peter Bosz’s side were less convincing in the Champions League group stage and only narrowly advanced to the knockout rounds with eight points from a possible 18.
Dortmund were pitched into a much tougher section, alongside Paris St-Germain, Milan and Newcastle, and showed their quality by accumulating 11 points and finishing in first place.
The Yellow-Blacks triumphed on trips to Newcastle (1-0) and Milan (3-1) and they have every chance of posting another significant away victory.
Tip 3 - Arsenal to beat Porto @ 4/6

Arsenal are playing as well as they have all season and they look a solid wager to record a first leg success over Porto at Estadio do Dragao.
The Londoners ignored widespread advice to sign a striker in January and have responded by scoring 14 goals in three February fixtures.
Mikel Arteta’s side are also defending diligently and should have too much quality in both boxes for Porto, who are third in Portugal and were twice beaten by Barcelona in Champions League Group H.
Tip 4 - Barcelona to beat Napoli @ 33/20
Barcelona are not having the greatest of seasons in La Liga but they have some fantastic attacking players and should have too much quality for Napoli in the opening leg of their intriguing knockout round clash.
A lack of defensive cohesion may prevent Barca from mounting a genuine challenge for the trophy.
However, the Catalans are a massive threat in attack, scoring two or more in seven of their last eight games, and should register an away win over Napoli, who are languishing mid-table in Serie A
