Champions League: Gameweek 4 Tips
There are 18 fixtures in Gameweek 4 of the Champions League with nine matches kicking off on Tuesday evening and another nine to look forward to on Wednesday.
We have picked out four of this week's best bets as Liverpool face a tricky test against Bayer Leverkusen and European champions Real Madrid aim to bounce back from their 4-0 La Liga defeat to Barcelona.
Tip 1 - Bayer Leverkusen or draw double chance v Liverpool @ 27/25
Liverpool have made the perfect start to their first Champions League campaign under Arne Slot but the Reds may well drop points at home to Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.
The German champions have lost only two matches in all competitions since the start of last season and coach Xabi Alonso can extend that run on his return to Anfield.
Leverkusen's title defence has been hampered by a run of four draws in their last five Bundesliga matches but they are handily placed in the Champions League following wins to nil against Feyenoord and AC Milan and a 1-1 draw away to Brest.
Liverpool have made a fine start to the Slot era but big games are coming thick and fast for the Reds, whose last five wins were all by a one-goal margin.
They drew 2-2 at Arsenal in late October, when Mohamed Salah equalised in the 81st minute, and Leverkusen look a cut above Liverpool's first three European opponents, Milan, Bologna and RB Leipzig.
Tip 2 - Over 3.5 goals in Real Madrid v AC Milan @ 5/4
Real Madrid's outstanding defence provided the foundation for last season's Champions League and La Liga triumphs but their standards have slipped this term.
Carlo Ancelotti's men have kept only one clean sheet in their last nine matches and they were thrashed 4-0 at home by rivals Barcelona in their most recent fixture.
Real had to come from 2-0 down to beat Borussia Dortmund 5-2 in Gameweek 3 of the Champions League, having won 3-1 against Stuttgart in their opener, and over 3.5 goals is a solid bet when they host AC Milan.
The Rossoneri struggled defensively in their 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool in Gameweek 1 and there were 14 shots on target in their 1-0 defeat at Leverkusen.
Milan picked up a much-needed win against Club Brugge last time out, beating the 10-man Belgians 3-1 at the San Siro, but they are unlikely to contain Real's star-studded attacking unit.
Tip 3 - Both teams to score - No in Inter v Arsenal @ 23/25
Neither Inter nor Arsenal have conceded a goal in this season's Champions League and defences are likely to dominate their clash on Wednesday.
The Gunners have looked short of attacking creativity without their injured captain Martin Odegaard and they may struggle to turn on the style in Milan.
Both sides have scored in only two of Arsenal's last 10 Champions League matches so backing one or both teams to fail to find the net is a decent bet.
Mikel Arteta's men drew 0-0 away to Atalanta in Gameweek 1 and their last two Premier League road trips ended in defeats to nil at Bournemouth and Newcastle.
Inter shared a dramatic 4-4 draw with Juventus in Serie A last month but that was out of character for the rock-solid Nerazzurri.
Three of their last four wins were by a 1-0 margin and they displayed their defensive quality in an opening 0-0 draw away to trophy favourites Manchester City.
Tip 4 - Feyenoord/Feyenoord Half Time/Full Time v Red Bull Salzburg @ 13/10
Red Bull Salzburg appeared to have a nice run of early fixtures in this season's Champions League but they have lost their first three games against Sparta Prague, Brest and Dinamo Zagreb by an aggregate score of 9-0.
That does not bode well for Wednesday's trip to Feyenoord, who have responded well to their opening 4-0 home defeat against Leverkusen.
The Dutch side bounced back with away wins over Girona and Benfica, scoring six goals in those two games, and they should be backed to take control early on in Rotterdam.
Feyenoord have won six of their last seven matches in all competitions and they were leading at half-time in five of those victories, including both of their Champions League successes.
