Premier League Gameweek 21 Tips: 14/1 Accumulator
The Premier League's 20 clubs came off relatively unscathed on FA Cup third-round weekend with only three - Arsenal, Brentford and West Ham - falling by the wayside.
It's back to league matters this week and there is a double helping of top-flight action on the cards.
A full programme of midweek fixtures begins with four matches on Tuesday evening and we've picked out four tips from Gameweek 21 that combine together to make an accumulator which pays out at 14/1.
Fulham to beat West Ham @ 7/5 (Tuesday, 7.30pm)
Graham Potter's reign at West Ham began with an FA Cup defeat at Villa Park and things may get worse before they get better at the London Stadium.
In spite of their exit, there was some notable improvement from the Hammers on Friday after they had conceded nine goals in back-to-back league defeats against Liverpool and Manchester City.
But the Hammers won't be a quick fix for Potter, and the visit of a confident Fulham side is sure to provide them with a stern test.
The Cottagers are enjoying a fine season and head across the capital unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions. Marco Silva's men look a spot of value at odds-against to extend that run to 10 with victory in east London.
Manchester City to beat Brentford @ 3/5 (Tuesday, 7.30pm)
Retaining the Premier League title is probably out of reach for Manchester City this season following their barren spell through November and December, but they have at least looked much more like themselves in recent weeks.
A 2-0 win at Leicester just before new year was followed by a thoroughly professional dissection of West Ham (4-1) and then an 8-0 rout of League Two Salford in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Brentford will certainly provide much more of a test than the fourth-tier Ammies but the Bees' confidence will have taken a knock following a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Championship strugglers Plymouth in the third round.
Thomas Frank's men have also lost to Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Arsenal in the league and Newcastle in the League Cup inside the last month, hinting that they tend to come up short against the better teams in the Premier League.
Aston Villa to beat Everton @ 27/20 (Wednesday, 7.30pm)
David Moyes is back in the Everton dugout after 12 years away following the Scot's appointment as Sean Dyche's successor a few days ago.
Moyes enjoyed great success at Goodison in an 11-year spell at the start of the millennium but he will inherit a club in a much more perilous position than the one he left in 2013.
Everton are again fighting against relegation this season and Moyes could certainly have had easier opening assignments than a visit from Aston Villa.
The Villans have found their feet after a shaky run and head to Merseyside having won six of their last nine matches in all competitions.
Unai Emery's eighth-placed visitors will still have the top four in their sights this season and they can boost their outlook with a fourth away league win of the campaign.
Both teams to score in Manchester United v Southampton @ 5/6 (Thursday, 8pm)
There's still plenty of work to do if Ruben Amorim is to turn Manchester United's fortunes around - but Sunday's FA Cup shootout success is at least a step in the right direction for the Red Devils.
That followed a creditable 2-2 draw away to Premier League leaders Liverpool at the start of January and a visit from basement boys Southampton offers United a golden chance to record a first league win since the Manchester derby on December 15th.
That said, United have not kept a clean sheet in 10 matches and the Saints, who recorded a morale-boosting 3-0 cup win over Swansea on Sunday, should be confident of at least getting on the scoresheet at Old Trafford.
