Premier League Gameweek 24 Tips: Wood and Isak To Score Again

After a bumper midweek of European action as the league phase of the Champions League and Europa League concluded, we are thrown back into top-flight action on Saturday, starting with Brighton’s trip to top-four chasing Nottingham Forest.

Five more games follow on Saturday afternoon, including a derby clash between Wolves and Aston Villa before a trio of Sunday fixtures, headlined by Arsenal vs Manchester City, and an all-London affair on Monday as West Ham and Chelsea lock horns.

Below we have compiled some of the best value tips on offer in the top flight this weekend.

Tip 1 – Chris Wood to score in Nottingham Forest vs Brighton @ 15/8

Nottingham Forest were drubbed at Bournemouth last weekend, but they should put in a much better showing at The City Ground when Brighton come to town, and Chris Wood could play a starring role. The veteran striker has already equalled his best-ever top-flight season for goals scored, netting 14 times in 23 appearances to match last term’s record and his 2019/20 campaign with Burnley.

He has scored four and assisted two in his last five Premier League outings, and visitors Brighton have conceded in seven of their last eight league away games.

Tip 2 – Alexander Isak to score in Newcastle vs Fulham @ 10/11

Newcastle bounced back from their 4-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth with a win at Southampton last weekend, and once again their path to victory was paved by Alexander Isak.

The Sweden international cancelled out an early Jan Bednarek goal from the penalty spot before putting the Magpies ahead four minutes later, taking his tally to 17 Premier League goals for the season.

He has scored 13 times in his last ten league appearances, and he’s up against a Fulham side who have conceded eight goals in their last five top-flight matches.

Tip 3 – Aston Villa to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers @ 11/10

Aston Villa have won their last two meetings with rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and there is little to suggest there will be a different result when they visit Molineux on Saturday evening.

Only rock-bottom Southampton have lost more Premier League games than Wolves this season and eight of their 15 defeats have come in front of their own fans. All seven of their home points this term have come against sides currently in the bottom half of the table.

Aston Villa, who beat Celtic 4-2 on Wednesday to land a top-eight spot in the league phase of the Champions League, are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches and have taken four points from recent trips to Everton and Arsenal. They can get the better of their rivals on Saturday.

Tip 4 – Brentford to beat Tottenham Hotspur @ 21/20

Brentford picked up their second successive away victory at Crystal Palace last weekend and they should be able to showcase that form in front of their own fans on Sunday.

The Bees’ last two home games have resulted in a draw against Manchester City and defeat to Liverpool, but the horribly out-of-form Tottenham should present fewer problems for Thomas Frank’s side.

The visitors’ shock defeat to relegation-threatened Leicester last weekend leaves them 15th in the table and with just one point from their last seven Premier League games.

Ange Postecoglou, now favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post, has seen his side lose to Leicester and Everton over the past two gameweeks, and defeat to Brentford on Sunday could be the final nail in the coffin for the Australian.
