Arnold Palmer Invitational Betting Tips

The first day of spring is just a couple of weeks away and golfing thoughts are turning to some huge tournaments on the horizon, as the elite of the PGA Tour assemble at Bay Hill this week for the latest signature event, the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The game’s leading lights would love to gain some confidence ahead of next week’s Players Championship at Sawgrass, while it is just over a month before they assemble for the year’s first Major, The Masters at Augusta.

Scottie Scheffler defends the trophy he has won for two of the last three years, but the world number one has started 2025 with form figures of 9-25-3, solid efforts yes, but not as exciting as his fans have become accustomed to.

Rory McIlroy is another former winner who tees it up at the venue where Tiger Woods has triumphed eight times, but even though he has won this year already at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, there could be better value to be had elsewhere on a course where accuracy can be of more benefit than distance.

Tip 1 – Ludvig Aberg to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational @ 12/1

One player who has demonstrated that he can deal with the demands of the 7,466-yard par-72 track is Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg and he has a great chance of claiming his second successive signature event.

He came out on top at last month’s Genesis Invitational, despite starting the week with a 74, and closing 14-under-par for three rounds at a track as tough as Torrey Pines South was impressive, especially as he had withdrawn from his previous tournament at Pebble Beach through illness.

It is a massive boost getting off the mark for the year with the Players and Masters just around the corner, particularly as he was eighth at Sawgrass last year and then second on his debut at Augusta, which was a great performance for someone having his first spin there.

Aberg, who was also fifth at The Sentry, the opening event of 2025 in Hawaii, is bubbling nicely and can be expected to have another great week.

Tip 2 – Shane Lowry to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational @ 33/1

Shane Lowry is another European hopeful who will fancy his chances this week, particularly after he got off to a dream start at Bay Hill 12 months ago when he carded an opening 66.

The man from Offaly ended up third on that occasion as Scheffler finished five shots ahead of former US Open champion Wyndham Clark, but the 2019 Open champion can do even better after some consistent recent results.

Lowry posted six straight top-20 finishes over the autumn on the DP World Tour after he was ninth in the 72-hole scores at the Tour Championship.

He then stepped up after missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open by finishing runner-up to McIlroy at Pebble Beach, and he played solidly enough to finish 11th at last week’s Cognizant Classic to suggest he can be a factor this week.

Tip 3 – Michael Kim to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational @ 66/1

Michael Kim is an outsider with the potential to put up a strong performance even if this week’s tournament represents a step up in class.

He had an excellent February as he finished second at the Phoenix Open, posted consecutive 13th-placed finishes at the Genesis and the Mexico Open and then couldn’t quite keep it up over four rounds at the Cognizant, where a closing 71 saw him slip to sixth spot.

Nevertheless, he is plainly moving in the right direction and could put up another bold performance at a big price.
