13:20 Cheltenham – Triumph Hurdle
East India Dock sets a rock-solid standard on form and his jumping is going to be a key asset in this year’s big-field contest.
He’s proven on the ground and has solid course form to his name so he looks like one of the better favourites on day four of the Festival.
Selection: East India Dock
14:00 Cheltenham – County Handicap Hurdle
It’s slightly surprising that Paul Townend has got off last year’s winner, Absurde, in favour of Kargese and there’s a good chance that the decision will have been a close call.
Absurde wouldn’t have been suited by the slow ground for last year’s renewal and there has to be a chance that he’ll take another step forward on this sort of surface.
Selection: Absurde
14:40 Cheltenham – Mares' Chase
Gavin Cromwell’s horses have been running well all week and Brides Hill looks a bit overpriced.
This daughter of Dylan Thomas has been shaping like a stiffer test would suit in her two defeats this campaign and she’ll relish conditions more than most of these.
Selection: Brides Hill

15:20 Cheltenham – Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle
This looks like a particularly competitive renewal but there has to be a chance the French raider, Jet Blue, can blow this race apart.
David Cottin’s runner was Grade 1-placed in France and he took the step up in trip in his stride in the trial for this race in December. His experience will hold him in good stead and he looks overpriced.
Selection: Jet Blue
16:00 Cheltenham – Cheltenham Gold Cup
It’s hard to get away from the claims of Galopin Des Champs in his bid for yet another Cheltenham Gold Cup.
He’s been as good as ever in his two wins at Leopardstown this season and he sets what looks like an insurmountable standard on form.
Selection: Galopin Des Champs
16:40 Cheltenham – Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters' Chase
Allmankind has been in cracking form in the point-to-point sphere since he was last seen under rules and James Owen’s horses have been running well this week.
He’s got a bit of Cheltenham form from when he was in his pomp and has solid each-way claims for this year’s renewal.
Selection: Allmankind
17:20 Cheltenham – Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle
As finales go, they hardly get more competitive and this is a tough “get out” stakes for the week at Cheltenham but one that may be capable of running well is East India Express.
He sneaks in down at the bottom of the weights and gets the services of Freddie Gordon, who is one of the more talented conditional riders in the race.
Selection: East India Express
