Kempton Spring Saturday Tips & Predictions

Listed action returns to the all-weather at Kempton Park on Saturday with a seven-race card.

The meeting also features a host of competitive handicaps to get stuck into, kicking off with the London Stayers’ Qualifier at 2.05.

Our expert has picked out their best bets for each of the seven races including a last time out winner that looks set to go well again.

2.05 Kempton - Queen's Prize Handicap (2m, London Stayers' Series Qualifier)

Silvestre De Sousa is a dab hand on stayers and he has a nice ride in the opener on Cool Party for Charlie Johnston.

The five-year-old son of Postponed won twice over this course and distance earlier in the all-weather season and finds himself back below his last winning handicap mark now, despite showing signs of a revival when placed at Lingfield last time out.

Selection: Cool Party

2.40 Kempton - Rosebery Handicap (1m3f, London Middle Distance Qualifier)

Real Dream hasn’t been given much respect in the market but he may be worth chancing on his debut for new connections.

He’s looked like one of Sir Michael Stoute’s typical long term projects in recent seasons but went close to winning on return last term and his subsequent efforts over 1m6f are probably best ignored. He may be able to bounce back here, particularly with top young apprentice Joe Leavy taking 3lb off his back.

Selection: Real Dream

3.15 Kempton - Snowdrop Fillies' Stakes (Listed, 1m)

Not many of these are Listed class and it looks like a good opportunity for Soprano to get her head back in front.

She struggled after a slow start in the Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar when last seen but showed she was Group 1 level prior to that outing and she’s been found a good opportunity dropped markedly in class for her seasonal reappearance.

Selection: Soprano

3.50 Kempton - British EBF Fillies' Conditions Stakes (1m)

Ellaria Sand signed off last season with an impressive Listed success and she’s another filly that is going to appreciate a drop in class on her return to action here.

This filly may have more to give at a mile this season and the yard could hardly be in better form with two winners from their last five runners.

Selection: Ellaria Sand

4.25 Kempton - British EBF Conditions Stakes (1m)

Cavallo Bay looked like a horse going places last season, winning two of his first three starts before a spell in the States where he ran some creditable races at graded level. A gelding procedure may help him progress again and he could take some stopping at Class 2 level.

Selection: Cavallo Bay

5.00 Kempton - Handicap (London Sprint Series Qualifier, 6f)

A strongly run six-furlongs should really suit Rohaan who is dangerously well handicapped at present. David Evans’ stable star returned to form when beaten a length at Southwell last time and a 1lb rise could be lenient.

Selection: Rohaan

5.35 Kempton - Handicap (1m4f)

Aiming High got it all together to win at Wolverhampton a week ago. A 4lb rise looks fair and this previous course and distance winner is expected to go well with the race likely to be run to suit.

Selection: Aiming High
