England vs Italy: Six Nations Betting Tips

England will be looking to press on in their pursuit of a first Six Nations title since 2020 when they welcome Italy to Twickenham for round four of the 2025 edition on Sunday.

After an opening loss to Ireland, the Red Rose have bounced back with one-point wins over France and Scotland to reignite their hopes of lifting the trophy.

Italy, with one victory and two defeats to their name, are aiming to beat England for the first time in their history after 31 unsuccessful attempts.

England vs Italy Betting Tips

  • Highest scoring half - second @ 8/13
  • Ben Earl anytime tryscorer @ 2/1

Team news

England have named Elliot Daly at full-back, replacing Marcus Smith who drops to the bench, while Fraser Dingwall comes in at centre for Henry Slade, who is out of the squad.

Hooker Jamie George will earn his 100th cap after taking the place of Luke Cowan-Dickie, while Jack van Poortvliet is preferred to Harry Randall as the scrum-half cover.

As for Italy, Ange Capuozzo moves to full-back with his place on the wing taken by Monty Ioane, with Tommaso Allan dropping to the bench.

Matt Gallagher lines up on the opposite wing after coming in for Simone Gesi, who is out of the squad, while Stephen Varney takes the spot of Martin Page-Relo at scrum-half.

Three changes have also been made in the forwards. Giacomo Nicotera replaces Gianmarco Lucchesi at hooker, Marco Riccioni comes in for Simone Ferrari at prop and Lorenzo Cannone makes way for Ross Vintcent at No.8.

Tip 1 – Highest scoring half - second @ 8/13

Italy shipped 73 points against France in round three and that may give the impression that England can rack up a few points in this clash, but the Red Rose haven't really clicked as an attacking unit under head coach Steve Borthwick and they are the joint-second lowest scorers in the 2025 Six Nations.

England rely more on their power in the forwards to get them into scoring positions before the backs then have an opportunity to cross the whitewash and a different approach is unlikely to be adopted for this contest at Twickenham.

Italy will want to respond from that France hammering and they should put up a more determined effort in the first half before eventually falling away in the second due to fatigue and a weaker bench.

Of England's three games so far, they have scored more points in the second half than the first, while there have been more points combined after the break in two of those fixtures.

Tip 2 – Ben Earl anytime tryscorer @ 2/1

Italy were overpowered by France last time out with four of the 11 tries scored by the French coming from forwards, so members of England's pack could have the opportunity to cross the whitewash on Sunday.

One of the biggest threats up front for the Red Rose is flanker Ben Earl, who scored the last of his five international tries against Japan in the 2024 Autumn Internationals.

The 27-year-old is strong and has a real turn of pace, enabling him to burst through tackles and make quick darts into space to create openings.

If Italy's defence cracks like it did against France, then Earl could find himself touching down under the posts.
