Miami Open Tennis Betting Tips

The 2025 Miami Open gets underway this week, promising two weeks of top tennis action at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

As one of the most prestigious events on both the ATP and WTA tours, this year's tournament brings together a plethora of established stars and rising talents vying for glory.

Jack Draper comes in off a remarkable performance at Indian Wells, where he claimed his first Masters series title in fine style and surged into the world’s top 10.

There’s no reason to doubt if the 2024 US Open semi-finalist can adapt to the faster court conditions in Miami, but whether his body holds out is another question entirely.

In the women's event, all eyes will be on Mirra Andreeva, who stunned Aryna Sabalenka in the Indian Wells final.

The talented teenager will attempt to do the ‘Sunshine Double’ and claim her third WTA 1000 title in a row.

Tip 1 – Daniil Medvedev to win ATP Miami @ 9/1

Jannik Sinner cannot defend his title, so could the last player to beat the Italian in Miami be the man to beat this year?

Daniil Medvedev defeated Sinner in straight sets back in 2023 and has always played his best tennis on faster hard-court surfaces.

The two-time Wimbledon semi-finalist and 2021 US Open champion reached the last four at Indian Wells last week before running into an in-form Holger Rune.

But that semi-final run did not appear to take a lot out of Medvedev, who received a bye in the first round and enjoyed a walkover victory in round three.

The 29-year-old was only on the California courts for nine sets in total and should still have plenty in reserve for an event where he boasts an 18-5 win-loss record with back-to-back semi-final appearances.

Tip 2 – Grigor Dimitrov to win ATP Miami @ 40/1

As he approaches his mid-30s, former teenage star Grigor Dimitrov is enjoying a career renaissance.

The popular Bulgarian has been inside or close to the world’s top-10 for the last year, helped in part by his run to the final at Miami Gardens 12 months ago.

Dimitrov took down eighth-seeded Hubert Hurkacz and fourth seed Alexander Zverev either side of a scintillating demolition of the then world number one Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.

He failed to show up in the final against Sinner, but will no doubt be pumped up to reproduce similar levels in Florida this year.

The 33-year-old warmed up for Miami by beating Nuno Borges and Gael Monfils at Indian Wells before Alcaraz exacted his revenge in conditions more conducive to his style.

But Dimitrov has the game to go further than the increasingly inconsistent Spaniard in Miami and, with Novak Djokovic appearing to be a fading force, the Bulgarian could be the best prospect among those stars with veteran status.

Tip 3 – Mirra Andreeva to win WTA Miami @ 6/1

The close proximity of this event to the other early spring WTA 1000 tournament at Indian Wells offers those players who hit form at the right time a chance to double up.

Although that has only happened three times in the last 20 years, with Kim Clijsters (2005), Victoria Azarenka (2016) and Iga Swiatek (2022) claiming both prizes, several other stars have gone very close.

Elena Rybakina almost pulled it off in 2023 as she, like Maria Sharapova 10 years before her, lost in the final at Miami after going all the way at Indian Wells in the weeks before.

So history tells us it would not be a shock if Andreeva made another deep run in this event.

Now at a career-high ranking of No.6, the 17-year-old will not lack confidence as she takes on the more established stars such as Sabalenka and Swiatek again.

She beat them both in California with a mixture of guts and guile, mixing up her tactics to unbalance her opponents and showing an unflinching will to win.

Tip 4 – Clara Tauson to win WTA Miami @ 70/1

Hard-hitting Danish star Clara Tauson could be one to watch in Miami at a much bigger price.

She reached the final of the WTA 1000 event in Dubai earlier this year, only to lose 6-7, 1-6 to Andreeva, who also knocked her out at the semi-final stage in Indian Wells last week.

Tauson competed well at Miami last year, but as a qualifier she had the misfortune to run into fourth-seeded Rybakina in the second round.

She pushed the two-time Miami finalist all the way in a three-set contest that lasted almost two and a half hours.

One year on, Tauson looks much better equipped to make a deep run as she enters in the second round as the 20th seed.

Her draw also appears favourable as Rybakina, together with top seed Sabalenka and home hope Coco Gauff, are all in the other half.
