We are proud to partner with the PDC to provide the title sponsorship for the 2024 BetMGM Premier League Darts. It’s showtime!

Eight elite competitors – including 2023 world champion Michael Smith, young sensation Luke Littler and seven-time league titlist Michael van Gerwen – will face off across 17 nights to be crowned BetMGM Premier League Darts champion.

One of the most esteemed competitions in darts, the BetMGM Premier League gets underway in Cardiff on February 1st. The competition predominantly takes place in the UK and Ireland, with stops in Rotterdam and Berlin also scheduled.

World champion Luke Humphries will be competing in the BetMGM Premier League proper for the first time following two previous appearances as a guest player. The current number one player in the world will be fighting to earn his first-ever BetMGM Premier League Darts title after a fantastic run of form from the second half of 2023 saw him pick up four major titles.

Luke Humphries History

Luke Humphries enters the BetMGM Darts Premier League as the world number one, holder of four PDC major titles and the reigning world champion, having won the Sid Waddell Trophy in a record-breaking final against Luke Littler in January.

The 28-year-old showed his powers of resilience throughout his triumphant worlds campaign. After beginning his journey with a 3-0 second-round whitewash of Lee Evans he overcame a scare against Ricardo Pietreczko in his next tie, ultimately winning 4-3 after going 3-1 down.

A dramatic sudden-death final-leg win over 2022 Masters champion Joe Cullen followed before a 5-1 dismantling of Dave Chisnall and a 6-0 thrashing of Scott Williams sent him to his first World Darts Championship final against Littler.

Humphries ended the teenager’s Cinderella story with a 7-4 victory in the final. The two face off again in Night 1 of the 2024 BetMGM Premier League Darts in Cardiff and ‘Cool Hand’ will be hoping to continue the impressive run of form that sees the reigning Grand Slam of Darts, Players Championship Finals and World Grand Prix champion enter the campaign as the betting favourite.
