Stephen Bunting returns to the BetMGM Premier League for the first time since appearing as a challenger in 2020 and the 2025 campaign will be his first full appearance since his 2015 debut.

Bunting has enjoyed a successful last 12 months, winning the Masters to claim his first-ever PDC major title as well as making the semi-final of the World Championship and the last eight of the UK Open before lifting the Bahrain Darts Masters this January.

Below, you can delve further into the career of ‘the Bullet’ and look at his career highlights ahead of the 17-night 2025 BetMGM Premier League Darts season, which kicks off on 6th February in Belfast.

Stephen Bunting History

Bunting made his first appearance in the BDO World Championship back in 2004, making the second round.

He gradually experienced success, making the quarter-final in 2011 before ultimately winning it in 2014 and transferring to the PDC.

In his first year on the PDC Tour, Bunting made the semi-finals of the World Grand Prix, the last eight of the European Championship, the Grand Slam of Darts and, impressively, the PDC World Championship.

The following year Bunting reached another major semi-final, this time in the UK Open, and made his Premier League Darts debut. It wasn’t until 2021, though, that he would make the last four of a major again, doing so at both the World Championship and the Grand Prix.

PDC major success finally arrived for the Bullet in 2024 at the Masters in Milton Keynes.

An impressive display to beat Michael van Gerwen 11-7 in the final followed wins over then-world champion Luke Humphries, former world champion Peter Wright and then-reigning World Matchplay titlist Nathan Aspinall.

Bunting never trailed a game in the final four rounds and averaged an impressive 102.50 in the final in what was a statement tournament for the 39-year-old.

Following his Masters success Bunting made the last eight of the UK Open as well as the semi-final of the 2025 World Championship — where he lost to eventual winner Luke Littler — before winning the Bahrain Darts Masters in January this year.
